JaHo Berlin, Berlin

Exciting new building in the capital

In Berlin-Mitte, the JaHo is taking shape as a new complex that creates an urban space for work, shopping, and dining. The complex—comprising the Jannowitz Tower, the Holzmarkt-Kontor, and Holzmarkt 5—is based on a multifunctional use concept. In particular, the integration of the railway arches, the train station, and the Spree River defines the character of JaHo Berlin. State-of-the-art office space concepts, along with dining and shopping options for everyday needs, offer residents, tenants, and visitors convenient access and a wide range of possibilities.

JaHo Berlin in Detail

Point of attraction Jannowitzbrücke

The neighborhood is being built right next to the Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. Thanks to JaHo Berlin, the area along the banks of the Spree is evolving beyond its previous role as a transit hub to become a new destination. In addition to its central location, the neighborhood’s mobility concept is supported by excellent public transportation connections and numerous bicycle parking spaces. Open spaces on the newly created city square, along with dining areas and outdoor spaces, provide places to linger and engage in spontaneous interactions outdoors.

Jannowitz-Turm

At the intersection of Alexanderstraße and Holzmarktstraße, the JaHo project is complemented by the striking Jannowitz Tower. The high-rise, featuring a public skybar on the top floor, offers an impressive panoramic view of Berlin, including the Spree River, Alexanderplatz, and the surrounding city skyline. The compact building volume is designed so that its projections and recesses relate to the neighboring buildings and the adjacent light rail line. Within the tower, these recesses create terrace areas with rooftop gardens. The transparent façade, with an outer layer of light-colored, horizontal, and vertical aluminum blades, reduces direct sunlight. At the same time, it creates a varied interplay of light and shadow.

Holzmarkt-Kontor & Holzmarkt 5

On the eastern construction site, the Holzmarkt-Kontor and Holzmarkt 5 complete the JaHo Berlin project. The Holzmarkt-Kontor, with its two S-shaped structures meandering in opposite directions one above the other and standing approximately 45 meters tall, defines the neighborhood’s character. The pocket parks on the ground floor create additional recreational spaces. Holzmarkt 5, which adjoins the historic building, completes the overall urban design of the complex. In harmony with the building’s architecture and its location, the ground floor will feature publicly accessible spaces with dining options and local amenities.
