Listed elements adorn the property

Statues enthroned on consoles, designed by the Düsseldorf sculptor Erich Kuhn, decorate the neoclassical property. The portal shows a monumentalized pillar construction spanning two storeys. Five console heads are attached to the southern axis of the building, each marking a new floor. In the representative building, which also impresses with its listed building components on the inside, the AOK insurance company uses office space of more than 10,000 m². A comprehensive revitalization is planned for the building – the building application for this was submitted in February 2023. The full renovation is scheduled to begin in Q4 2024, following the current tenant’s move-out. As part of the revitalization, work is planned on the building envelope and mechanical and electrical systems to reduce the building’s energy consumption. The office floors will undergo a complete renovation, while certain historically protected spatial structures and building components will be preserved. The result will be high-quality boutique offices featuring spacious interior designs and a digital infrastructure. The office spaces will be equipped with mechanical ventilation and heating/cooling ceiling panels. The project aims to achieve DGNB Gold certification. In addition, an assessment is underway to determine whether the technical evaluation criteria of the EU Taxonomy relevant to the renovation project can be met.
